Launching Leaders
Farm Credit is working to remove barriers to entry, ensuring that all individuals have equitable access to successful careers in agriculture.
Launching Leaders Program
Farm Credit aims to attract a diverse talent pool to most effectively support its mission. To help meet this goal, Farm Credit established the “Launching Leaders” program, a $3,500 stipend awarded to all Farm Credit interns who attend or graduated within the past year from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or are active members of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS), regardless of college or university.
These funds are awarded in addition to the compensation an intern receives. Farm Credit hopes that this award both attracts qualified students to Farm Credit, and helps remove barriers such as the cost of relocation.
“As far as my experience goes, it was nothing short of amazing! Working for a cooperative like Cobank allowed me to grow and develop as a young professional seeking career clarity. The meaningful connections I have made are life-changing.”
– Michael H., Langston University
