• Ag-related businesses

We have an excellent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in our Finance Department/Administrative office located in Mechanicsville VA. Under the general direction of the CFO, this position performs general accounting activities for the Association including accounts payable, fixed assets, 1099 reporting, employee expense reports (monthly), director expense reports (as needed), fleet management, and general ledger accounting.

Primary Functions
• Review and processes all invoices and expense vouchers through Accounts Payable software, coding to appropriate accounts and routing for approval
• Ensures payments are made timely for invoices and subscription services
• Resolves invoice discrepancies including outstanding balances and miscellaneous fees with vendors
• Coordinates filing and payment of property taxes and business licenses
• Processes employee and director expense reports
• Responsible for 1099 information to include review of 1099 information entered and maintenance of 1099 vendors
• Gathers and submits documentation for fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions and transfers
• Maintains all records and reports for fixed assets
• Maintains records and updates reports for Association’s vehicle fleet, including insurance claims

Educa tion, Experience, and Requirements:
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar accounting role
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively with employees at all levels
• Acceptable background reports (credit, criminal, driving, and drug testing)

Preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft
• Working knowledge of Quicken
