Responsibilities/Duties

Market Presence

  • Grow crop insurance portfolio by pursuing new business and building key relationships.
  • Engage in community events and professional groups to strengthen connections.

Growth and Prospecting

  • Identify and develop sales leads, leveraging referrals and market awareness.
  • Originate and renew crop insurance policies and present risk management options.

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee policy documentation and reporting.
  • Manage claims, guide members, and ensure policy retention through regular communication.

Crop Insurance Administration

  • Process insurance documents efficiently using technology and management systems.
  • Collaborate with processing teams for accurate policy execution.

Continuous Education

  • Stay current on insurance products, regulations, and agricultural programs.
  • Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing training.

Required Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of production agriculture
  • Skill in negotiating to sell and promote crop insurance
  • Skill in negotiating complex agreements to achieve the best outcome for the organization
  • Skill in critical thinking
  • Skill in utilizing a systematic approach to problem solving
  • Skill in focusing and concentrating on details, along with differentiating significant and insignificant details
  • Skill in utilizing technology to increase efficiency

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture, or related field and
AVP – no experience; VP – 3 years of experience in sales or an ag related field; Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skillset sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Valid crop insurance licensed required within three months from time of hire.
Must be willing and able to travel throughout the assigned territory
