Farm Credit of Central Florida, a leading agribusiness lender is currently seeking to recruit a qualified Compliance Officer who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the Association’s compliance management program. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, the position will be responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, as well as internal policies, and procedures. To succeed in this role, you should be a dependable professional who is well-versed in legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a professional of high ethical standards and works diligently complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business.
Specifically, this role will:
– Monitor and enforce compliance with lending regulations (e.g., Truth in Lending Act, Fair Lending Act, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, OFAC, Adverse Actions and applicable FCA regulation s)
– Review loan documentation (including loan applications) for regulatory accuracy and completeness
– Provide second level review and serve as a resource to Association staff responsible for preparing Association policy and procedure
– Prepare Association policy and procedure as necessary
– Stay current with changes in lending laws/regulatory changes and ensure that policies and procedures are updated accordingly
– Train loan officers and staff on compliance procedures and regulatory updates
– Serve as liaison during external audits and regulatory examinations
– Investigate, track, and resolve compliance violations or customer complaints
– Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance by conducting appropriate research and provide appropriate guidance to support position
– Ensure the Association is following and implementing best practices across the organization to reduce compliance related risks
– Assist in the preparation of compliance reports for staff, management, employee committees, and/or the board of directors with responsibility for ensuring their accuracy
Required Qualifications
– Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
– Requires bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or related field, or equivalent acceptable experience
– Financially literate with understanding of finance and internal controls
– Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g., AML, ECOA, FCRA, TILA)
– Ability to quickly learn and interpret new regulator guidance
– Effective written and oral communication skills
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Knowledge of personal computer operations and software applications
– Self-motivated, career-oriented, with ability and desire to learn and willingness to apply new procedures and concepts
