The Credit Support Associate is responsible for learning and developing expertise across the operations, credit analyst, and/or loan coordinator functions within Farm Credit East. This person will gain a broad understanding of the credit department’s operations, preparing the person for growth opportunities within the credit function as determined by aptitude and performance, interest, geographic location, and business needs.

- Provide ACA wide internal and external customer support for credit and operations processes operational efficiency by effectively and efficiently analyzing credit requests, assessing risk, and making recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Credit Analysis
- Analyze credit applications and communicate findings regarding the strengths and weaknesses.
- Learn to structure credit facilities appropriately and understand the marketplace, credit analysis, and underwriting principles, including the five “C’s” of credit.
- Gain familiarity with all phases of the credit delivery process and the importance of protecting the Association while meeting customer needs and promoting a positive corporate image.
Loan Coordinator
- Participate in managing the end-to-end lending lifecycle and serve as a liaison among team members.
- Handle internal operations and external client-facing responsibilities, including addressing customer questions, servicing requests, and documentation needs.
- Collaborate with Loan Officers (LOs) and act as the first line of defense for customer interactions.
Operations
- Prepare, coordinate, and accurately file legally enforceable loan documentation, ensuring compliance with ACA policies and applicable laws while maintaining proper communication with customers and staff.
- Accurately book loans of varying sizes and complexity, processing all associated monetary transactions and managing operations dashboard requests.
- Maintain accurate General Ledger (GL) accounts, provide timely reports, and review and correct accounting system reports and loan rejects to ensure proper scheduling of billing and monetary transactions.
- Provide exceptional service and expertise in your designated area(s); this may include (but is not limited to): General Ledger post-close reporting, Insurance, UCC renewals, Credit Life Insurance, Processing paid out loans, modifications, FSA semi-annual status reports, Processing financial services payments, Protective advances.
Process improvement and optimization
- Learn and complete various credit and operations processes with a focus on process improvement.
- Identify potential technology solutions to existing manual processes.
Customer Centricity
- Communicate effectively with customers and FCE staff; documents customer interactions in AgWorx.
- Always maintain a positive and professional attitude.
Required Education or Experience
- Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, Finance, Business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Salary: $53,000
- This position is primarily conducted out of a physical Farm Credit East office location in order to effectively serve local customers. Farm Credit East requires new employees to work at their assigned office location for the first 6 months of their employment. After 6 months of acceptable performance, the employee is eligible for a hybrid working structure of 4 days in-office and 1 day working from home each week.
