Position Description:
The Data Analyst & Data Project Analyst within the Loan Accounting Systems organization supports the accuracy, integrity, and usability of loan data across the enterprise. This role performs data analysis and supports project execution related to loan accounting, Loan IQ, downstream reporting, and operational and regulatory data needs. The position works in partnership with accounting, operations, reporting, and technology teams to analyze data issues, support system and reporting initiatives, and contribute to the consistent use of loan data across related processes and systems.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
– Analyze data across Loan IQ and related upstream and downstream systems to identify trends, discrepancies, and operational impacts.
– Review loan attributes, includin g pricing options, rate basis, repayment schedules, fee structures, and accounting events, to support data accuracy and alignment with business rules.
– Perform data reconciliations between Loan IQ, the general ledger, reporting tools, and data warehouse environments to identify, investigate, and document variances.
– Prepare dashboards, reports, and data summaries reflecting loan portfolio metrics, exception trends, and data quality indicators.
– Support data-driven projects related to system enhancements, data remediation efforts, Loan IQ upgrades, workflow improvements, and reporting modernization.
– Assist with project activities, including requirements documentation, data mapping, test coordination, issue tracking, and stakeholder communication.
– Partner with product managers, business analysts, data engineering, quality assurance, finance, accounting, and operations teams to support project execution and issue resolution.
– Support data gov ernance activities for loan accounting data, including business definitions, data lineage, reference data, and documentation of data quality rules.
– Help monitor and investigate data quality issues, including missing values, incorrect loan statuses, misaligned accrual settings, and unexpected rate resets.
– Assist with root-cause analysis for data issues affecting financial reporting, operational workflows, and regulatory processes.
– Use SQL and other analytical tools to extract, transform, and analyze loan datasets from enterprise data platforms.
– Develop visualizations and reporting outputs using Power BI or similar tools to support business insight and decision-making.
– Contribute to the identification and documentation of process improvement opportunities related to loan data, reporting, and system workflows.
– Develop working knowledge of how system configuration, including rate sets, fee schedules, amortization rules, and accounting even ts, impacts downstream data and reporting.

Required
– Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
– 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, systems support, or project coordination, preferably within lending, loan servicing, financial systems, or a related environment.
– Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to analyze data across multiple systems and sources.
– Experience supporting data-related projects, reporting initiatives, system enhancements, or process improvement efforts.
– Familiarity with loan lifecycle processes, including origination, servicing, funding, accruals, payments, and rate resets.
– Ability to investigate data issues, organize findings, and communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
– Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments within a team-based environment.
Preferred
– Experience with Loan IQ or similar commercial loan servicing systems.
– Exposure to loan accounting concepts, including accruals, amortization, fee recognition, and suspense handling.
– Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
– Familiarity with data governance, audit support, or regulatory reporting processes.
– Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data analysis or automation.
– Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile or hybrid project environments.
