The purpose of this position is to provide general operational support and build customer relationships through product promotion and customer service, focusing primarily on express policies. The incumbent will partner with customers to determine which insurance products best meet the customer’s needs.

What you will do:

 

Customer Relationships:

  • Maintain a portfolio of small insurance policies, typically these are policies that generate a lesser amount of revenue to GreenStone and are serviced almost entirely from the office.
  • Communicate recommendations for various insurance products to assigned customers, including upsells and optional coverages that meet their particular needs.
  • Manage customer policy claims.
  • Act as liaison between the insurance companies and customer for policy inquiries, claims, or servicing issues.
  • Monitor policy renewals, changes, and rejects. Contact customer regarding policy issues or missing information on forms.
  • Provide tracking reports to Crop Insurance Operations Manager and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Manage premium delinquencies prior to debt termination date.
  • Document customer needs, activities, referrals, and correspondence in customer database.
  • Maintain sales/marketing competence by participating in GreenStone supported sales training courses.

 

Technical Competence:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hail and multi-peril crop insurance products and stay a breast of all new changes from insurance companies or governmental agencies.
  • Gather and process applications (APP), policy changes, actual production history (APH) andacreage reporting (AR) information accurately and timely to meet all processing deadlines.
  • Prepare, print, and send (electronically or by mail) policy documents and reports to customers.
  • Provide accurate and timely data entry and document uploads into customer data base and insurance software programs.
  • Send required documents to the insured on behalf of GreenStone and approved insurance providers (AIP).
  • Cooperate and coordinate workload with other crop insurance team members so that work is completed timely, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
  • Develop a complete understanding of customer database and electronic file storage for usewith the crop insurance program.
  • Serve as a resource for crop insurance programs for the Crop Insurance team. Assist in the training and oversight of interns.

 

What Experience can you Bring?

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Incumbent must acquire and maintain a State of Michigan Limited Lines P&C or Wisconsin insurance license, meet annual Federal requirements, and attend training courses for required continuing education for crop insurance.
  • 3+ years administrative experience required.
  • Agricultural industry knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of varied crop insurance policies, procedures, and practices is preferred.
