Farm Credit Illinois is seeking a motivated college student to join our team as a Finance & Accounting Intern. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agricultural finance.

Farm Credit Illinois is an agricultural financial cooperative owned by 16,000 farmers, rural landowners, and agribusiness voting stockholder members in the southern 60 counties of Illinois. Dedicated to Helping Farm Families Succeed, FCI provides competitive and flexible financing, crop insurance expertise, and Rural 1st® country life lending. FCI manages a $8 billion loan portfolio, sells 1.5 million acres of crop insurance coverage, and employs 295 staff in the Mahomet headquarters and 14 regional offices.

What You Will Do:

  • Gain hands-on experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting within agricultural lending and crop insurance.
  • Support business planning, portfolio analysis reporting, and finance/accounting project work.
  • Collaborate with the Finance & Accounting Team while developing independent problem-solving skills.
  • Shadow professionals and complete meaningful projects aligned with your career interests.
  • Apply your skills in Microsoft Office and communication to contribute to real business needs.
  • Participate in a mentor program and team-building activities while learning about agriculture in central and southern Illinois.
  • Receive a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 per hour, living stipend, reimbursement for business travel, and paid leave in accordance with the Paid Leave for All Workers Act.
  • Work full-time (M–F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. May 18, 2026 – August 6, 2026) from our Mahomet headquarters with occasional travel across the southern 60 counties of Illinois. Summer housing in or around Champaign County is required.

Eligibility: Must be enrolled as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters with the intent to be enrolled as students in Fall 2026 as well. Preferred majors include finance, accounting, business administration, agricultural business, agricultural economics, or another related degree program.
