Position Description: Home & Land Loan Officer serves as a confident financial professional through the delivery of sound credit and financial services within regulations and policies. Formulates business development strategies, develops customer and referral relationships, and assists in portfolio management when needed. Promotes related services, participates in public relations activities, and develops a favorable Farm Credit image in the community. Assists branch team and Association in meeting its goals and objectives through effective teamwork, cooperation, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Processing & Servicing
- Develops new Home and Land business with part-time farmers and rural residents within the territory.
- Productively and completely closes loans within delegated authority, ensures complete loan files and meets work quantity expectation.
- Provides guidance to customers seeking financial solutions.
Marketing & Business Development
- Responsible for originating consumer loans for existing accounts and developing new business with part-time farmers and rural residents within the territory.
- Market both portfolio and secondary mortgage market products, promote financial services, and develop strong referral relationships with network allies, while growing business in assigned territory.
Customer Service
- Builds strong relationships both internal and external and provides the maximum value for customers. Delivers exceptional customer service that is timely and responsive while fulfilling responsibilities.
Financially Related Services
- Interviews applicants, gathers, analyzes and reconciles complete, accurate credit and financial data using the five credit factors under the guidelines of differential analysis. Determines credit and financial risk and makes timely and accurate decisions. Communicates credit decision to loan applicants.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or related field.
- Generally, one to five years of related experience in sales, ag industry, or financially related experience.
- Proficient interpersonal relations, organization, and communication skills.
- Travels within assigned territory extensively.
- Basic knowledge of consumer compliance regulations, lending, and selling.
- Capable of managing loans and customer relationship under close supervision.
- Handles duties within required time expectations, delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
- May spend a significant amount of time meeting with customers, prospects, and referral generators.
- General knowledge of agriculture and selling skills.
