A Day in the Life of a HR Technology Project Manager
The HR Technology Project Manager combines hands-on technology administration, with high-impact project management. You will lead technology projects from inception to completion, guiding cross-functional teams, managing resources, and ensuring successful project delivery. This role focuses on aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals to support business transformation.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Work directly with partner organizations to identify needs, gather technical requirements, and implement data integrations that meet shared goals.
- Use your influence to drive project timelines and vendor deliverables, ensuring a smooth, timely delivery of technology solutions.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple complex projects, keeping everyone aligned and driving solutions forward.
- Lead testing and validation efforts to ensure system changes are thoroughly evaluated before deployment.
- Ensure all team members and stakeholders understand and are prepared for system updates and new functionalities.
- Serve as subject matter expert in Human Capital Management (HCM) modules and tools.
- Perform system maintenance and address outstanding issues.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related technology
- Five years of HRIS and/or HR technology operations, process improvement and project management experience
- Preferred certifications in project management (PMP) and/or business analysis
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- Demonstrated technical competence with various Payroll/HR information systems (e.g. Dayforce, ADP, UKG)
- Skill in planning and coordinating multiple large/complex projects involving numerous stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external individuals
- Strong skill in analyzing current business processes and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement
- Working knowledge of XML, SQL
