POSITION: Information Technology – Operations Manager
ACCOUNTABLE TO: VP, IT – Operations
POSITION OBJECTIVES: The Information Technology – Operations Manager, must have hands on experience to work in partnership with the VP of IT Operations; will lead and implement company-wide technology projects to support the Funding Corporation’s long term business strategy. The IT-Operations Manager will lead all aspects of maintaining, enhancing and administering mission critical primary and back-up 24 by 7 sites which includes up to 100 users running Linux and Windows Operating Systems in a Virtual environment; maintaining and securing the Corporation’s wide and local area networks; and serve as technical leadership for Systems Administrators.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and manage the implementation of IT Operations technology projects by meeting key milestones, optimizing resources, budget management and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate IS strategies to support the Funding Corporation’s business objectives.
• Periodically review all hardware, software and communications strategies against proven and new technologies.
• Identify, establish and implement appropriate cyber security controls.
• Prepare the annual systems administration/operations/disaster recovery budget, control expenses and implement cost awareness programs.
• Evaluate vendors’ and suppliers’ capabilities and assess alternatives and options for improving IS services to clients.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize resources (people, hardware, software, facilities, vendors, etc.) in order to maintain established levels of service.
• Maintain continuing relations with external vendors and suppliers. Partner with VP of IT Operations on contract negotiations and volume purchase agreements.
• Review, monitor and maintain policies, processes, operating standards and methodologies.
• Maintain, test and upgrade as appropriate the disaster site recovery plan and disaster recovery site.
• Recruit, lead and coach a team of Systems Administrators.
• Stay current on emerging technology, trends, and market conditions within the IS field.
BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration preferred. MS/MBA Degree a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in Information Systems.
• 5+ years of IT project management experience.
• In-depth technical understanding (developing, implementing and maintaining) of:
o Linux operating systems
o Windows operating systems
o Virtual operating systems
o Networked/distributed/cloud computing environments
o High availability technology
o Backup/disaster site
o Access and Identity Management
o Cyber Security including but not limited to:
Endpoint security
Perimeter security
Server/Host security
Application security
o VoIP
o Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Containers, VMware, Kubernetes
o Cloud Computing
o User/client support
COMPENSATION: $125-$165K (DoE) + Annual bonus
