As an Internal Audit Intern with Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) you ensure integrity of financial data, safeguarding of assets, and compliance with policies and procedures during internal audits within our Association. You’ll be part of a supportive team to help you learn the ins and outs of Agricultural lending while developing value auditing, communication, and career-building skills. An ideal candidate is self-motivated, demonstrates clear communication, has a passion for accuracy and a basic knowledge of accounting principles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete Audit Projects: Collaborate with internal audit team members, auditees, and leaders to complete the annual Retail Lending Operations Audit and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) testing.
- Expand Your Skills: Assist with special projects that challenge you to think critically, analyze data, and introduce you to a wide range of learning opportunities.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Clearly communicate any concerns identified in testing, understand potential risks, and suggest ideas for improving processes, procedures, or controls.
- Gain Experience with Audit Tools: Prepare detailed audit workpapers using AuditBoard, Workiva, or Excel to leverage data analytics to evaluate audit populations.
Education Requirements
- Education & Ambition: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and are driven to learn more about auditing in the financial sector.
- Career Focus: Strong desire to pursue a career in auditing, with an interest in exploring the agricultural lending industry.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
- Academic Excellence: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
