JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Internal Communications Associate is responsible for creating a connected, informed, and engaged internal culture across the organization. This role owns internal communication strategy and execution, manages the intranet, internal events, and employee storytelling initiatives. The Associate also serves as Interim Executive Director of Together We Grow, overseeing the nonprofit’s communications, partnerships, and board coordination. This position bridges branches, departments, and employees to ensure consistency and alignment in internal messaging.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 1–3 years in a communications or employee engagement role preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive work style. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and intranet platforms preferred.
– Internal Communications: Write and distribute the monthly internal newsletter. Lead campaigns and updates aligned with key initiatives and organizational priorities.
– Learning Hour Facilitation: Plan, host, and facilitate monthly ‘Learning Hour’ interviews with employees and partners to share internal stories and promote learning.
– Intranet Management: Maintain content, structure, and engagement on internal intranet platforms.
– Internal Events: Plan and coordinate events for administration and branches, as needed.
– Branch Relations: Act as liaison to branches to gather stories, communicate needs, and support internal marketing efforts.
– New Hire Support: Coordinate new hire marketing needs including bios, headshots, introductions, and onboarding materials.
– Specialty Item Oversight: Design, order, and maintain branded items for internal use and employee appreciation.
– Invoice Submissions: Submit and track branch invoices rel ated to marketing and communication.
– Together We Grow: Serve as Interim Executive Director. Manage nonprofit operations, communication, reporting, and board engagement.
– Scholarship Program: Coordinate scholarship promotion, application process, and award communication.
– Young Farmers Advisory Committee: Facilitate meetings, communications, and planning for committee engagement.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. Ability to manage projects independently and collaborate across departments. Experience with digital platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Canva) preferred. Nonprofit and event planning experience is a plus.
