Position Overview: As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in growing and servicing a mortgage and commercial loan portfolio and associated related services by developing and nurturing customer relationships. You will be responsible for staying informed of industry trends and local market competition; assisting in retaining and expanding existing business relationships; and identifying new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Interview potential and current customers. Assess their financial needs and propose tailored loan solutions.
- Ensure that all assigned loans are made in accordance with FCA Regulations and Association credit policies and procedures.
- Manage assigned portfolio that may include large and complex loans.
- Complete various chattel appraisal activities, including reconcilements, inspections, and preparation of chattel reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Collaborate with the team to implement and execute the sales marketing plan to achieve business plan goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan application and approval process.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless loan processing, closing, and servicing.
- Attend functions within the community. Present a positive image for the Association and actively contribute to our mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, finance, banking, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of agriculture and business financial principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Agricultural background and knowledge of local market dynamics and competition is a plus.
- Must be motivated, self-driven, and customer focused.
- Three years of lending experience is preferred; however, entry level candidates are encouraged to apply.
