Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma is recruiting for various Loan Officer Trainee/Field Representative positions. Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma serves 17 counties in Central and Western Oklahoma with seven branch locations: Alva, Anadarko, Clinton, Elk City, Guymon, Tuttle and Woodward.
The Loan Officer Trainee’s primary responsibilities are centered on marketing, originating and servicing agricultural financial products, and providing agricultural and financial expertise to customers and prospects while building strong relationships with these individuals. The individual is able to combine his/her agricultural and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each customer’s current needs in order to provide innovative and workable alternatives to solve problems the customer faces in their ongoing business operations. By cross training with different positions within the Association, the Loan Officer Trainee will be able to work in sales/credit or specialize in appraisal/collateral valuation.
Reports to: Branch Manager
A successful candidate will meet with current and new customers to gather, update and review financial information; evaluate the scope of the operation; determine loan eligibility and submit a complete loan application/supporting documentation to the credit/lending department. Loan Officer Trainees will represent and promote Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma at agriculture and community organization meetings and events; attend real estate auctions and livestock auctions to market Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma products and services and determine appropriate marketing strategies for potential or current customers. Candidates for this positon will communicate with internal and external resources (appraisal department, credit department, FSA, title companies, surveyors and legal counsel) to insure customer needs are met. Loan Officer Trainees or Field Representative will determine value of collateral such as cattle, crops and machinery along with real estate values using internal and external resources such as website, local grain markets and livestock facilities. A successful candidate will determine locations and logistics of loan closing to ensure timeliness to meet customer needs and expectations. Candidates will have the ability to attend loan officer and other training courses to continue career development; and accept other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or a related field
- Willing to relocate
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Required Knowledge and Skills
General knowledge of the sales process, marketing strategies and negotiating tactics. Over-all knowledge of the agriculture and financial services industry along with knowledge in basic accounting principles. Basic skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing along with the dependability to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma’s systems and data and clients’ data. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics and effectively communicate complex topics.
