Position Description:
We are searching for a Product Specialist QA III. This position participates in and supports application product and business process testing of the systems used to support client operations. Supports the planning, managing, and execution of major and minor releases of application code. Executes software testing tasks requiring analysis, planning, scheduling, working with various technologies, participating in requirements, design reviews, and estimation. Participates in the quality control and review process from the application design and specification stage through final release. Works closely with software development early in the development lifecycle (requirements and design stages) to gather test cases and minimize back-end critical path.
May perform Business Analysis work for the scrum team, as needed.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes overall product testing strategy, including product test automation strategy.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to other testers within the product team.
  • Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases against our software platforms based on an analysis of requirements, user stories, use cases, and technical design specifications.
  • Collaborate with product and integration development teams to enhance knowledge of business systems to better contribute to the functional and regression testing suites and accompanying automation team.
  • Tests and certifies software changes, enhancements and new system features. Develop a deep understanding of business processes and integration points to provide a more robust end to end testing.
  • Act as a key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases for the product team. Ownership of leading the test phases through continuous agile sprints and test phases prior to release.
  • Communicates with product owner, project manager, scrum master, technical team, and BAs about testing tasks and results.
  • Participates in the SDLC process as outlined by the SDLC Guide.
  • Provide regular progress report and test results to effectively communicate software test results & bugs to invested stakeholders.
  • Conduct defect triage meetings and track QA / UAT / Production bugs to closure.
  • Works with product test schedules and communicates any schedule delays to team leadership.
  • Sound understanding of techniques for ensuring test coverage and traceability.
  • Sound understanding and application of quality practices as applied to software testing
  • May coordinate with associations to collaborate on testing approved association use cases that may be incorporated into the agile sprints and/or acceptance testing (end to end).
  • Manage production verification activities and work with business and IT organizations to attain sign-off on testing.
  • Contributes to the development of QA Standards and Procedures.

It’s an important role that covers many skills. This position requires:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience, and four (4) to six (6) years or more of experience in software quality assurance or software development in a business software environment with at least one (1) year or more of recent experience on automation testing or developing enterprise-class applications. Experience in system testing, integration testing, end to end testing, regression testing, cross-browser testing, and mobile device compatibility testing in a lead role. Finance and Accounting experience including working in a Banking environment is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of software development lifecycle, QA practices and methodologies and an abili ty to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changes in priority efficiently. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Ability to follow comprehensive written instructions. Handles complex issues and problems and refers even more complex issues to higher-level staff. Ability to communicate/coordinate effectively with all levels of management as well as with outside vendors; Ability to exercise sound judgment, use discretion and maintain confidentiality. A heavy degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to travel on a moderate basis. Skill in oral and written communication. Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office applications. Possesses analytical thinking and mathematical skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Assist in execution of manual and/or automated tests and documents results. Comprehensive knowledge of automation tools and frameworks. Assists the QA Manager in defining, developing a nd implementing quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans and other QA assessments.
