JOB TITLE: Risk and Research Analyst Intern (3 Months with Full-Time Potential)
ANNUAL SALARY: $28 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide data, research, and analytical support to Funding Corporation, System Banks, and other constituents. Support System risk monitoring and management efforts, and participate in the development, production, delivery, and maintenance of research products and services. This is a 3-month internship role with the possibility of becoming a full-time, permanent position when the assignment concludes with higher salary and benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the production and distribution of scheduled automated and semi-automated reports, daily/weekly tasks.
- Participate in the development of reports, dashboards, and analysis, including data sourcing, code development, code maintenance, and process documentation. Provide research and presentation support to supervisor, and other senior leaders as appropriate.
- Provide support to System-wide meetings and working groups as required by supervisor.
- Deep dive review of data and reports for accuracy and reasonableness as needed.
- Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to learn about all aspects of the Farm Credit System.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards graduate degree in mathematics, finance, financial engineering, computer science, economics, or related field required.
- Passion for quantitative research and very strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Experience in at least one programming language (MATLAB, Python, R etc.) and querying databases (SQL) is required. MATLAB proficiency is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate interest in capital markets.
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.
- Comfortable working with complex and large datasets.
- Familiarity with financial markets data e.g. Bloomberg.
SUCCESS IN THE POSITION:
- Strong quantitative abilities with a commitment to stay abreast of technological as well as financial markets developments that may be applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
