We are looking for a curious and technical Data & BI Intern to join our team this summer. You won’t just be “shadowing”- you’ll be building. You will sit at the intersection of data infrastructure and business strategy, helping us refine our data pipelines while turning complex datasets into actionable visual stories.

 

What You’ll Learn

  • How to handle data at scale in a production environment.
  • The art of translating “business speak” into technical requirements.
  • Exposure to modern data stack tools (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, Airflow).

 

This position is part-time, working approximately no more than 30 hours a week. Occasional travel may be required to sufficiently support other locations within territory.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Data Pipeline Support: Assist in building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes to move data from various sources into our data warehouse/data lake.
  • BI Development: Design, build, and iterate on automated dashboards (Sigma Computing/Power BI) to support various departments.
  • Data Models: Perform data model auditing and enhancement to ensure the data models remains accurate and reliable.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to urgent report requests from stakeholders, providing data-backed answers to pressing business questions.
  • Documentation: Create clear technical documentation for new data models and dashboard logic to ensure long-term team success.

 

Minimum Qualifying Characteristics:

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related fields. Must be in good standing academically with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have a minimum of one semester remaining prior to receiving a bachelor’s degree.
  • Comfortable writing queries, joining tables, and understanding relational database structures.
  • Familiarity with Python (preferred) or R for data manipulation.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and a eye for clean, intuitive design.
  • Teamwork capacity/ working effectively with others
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks/handle multiple tasks, solve problems, meet deadlines, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
  • Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and management.
  • Skill in behaving in a manner consistent with the values of the organization
  • A detective mentality- enjoys digging into data to find our why a number doesn’t look right.
  • Skill in maintaining confidentiality with employee personal identifiable information.

Pay Rate: $25/hr.

 

This range is a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. Actual salaries could vary and may be above or below the range as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.  Variation is based on various factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.  In addition, benefits for this position include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k, tax advantage accounts, paid vacation, sick leave and parental leave.
