The Senior Employee Relations and Compliance Adviso r is an experienced Human Resources professional that works closely with management and employees, providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues. Identifies and analyzes legal and compliance risks in employment situations. The Senior Employee Relations and Compliance Advisor plays an essential role in the administration of HR compliance related activities, EEO and affirmative action program, and employee advocacy. Duties & Responsibilities - Provides sound guidance to promote a positive employee relations climate while ensuring consistent application of relevant policies, procedures and past precedent - Embraces, listens and considers information and perspectives from both management and employee(s) in the resolution of issues as required. Creates sustained solutions to people challenges - Provide advice and counsel to people managers (including Executives) and HR Strategic Business Partners to assist them in resolving a wide range of complex people management issues/problems - Provide timely and consistent information and/or education of HR programs/practices and policy guidance across the Bank – support implementation and provide coaching to management on all new / changed policy and practices - Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that wil l support the strategic growth of a business - Advises on how to best reduce employment-related risks and alignment with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Measures and monitors existing HR policies and procedures - Manages the employee handbook and related HR policies. Administers the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs - Conducts retention and exit interviews, summarizes findings and discusses trends and concerns with senior management - Provide HR expertise in the areas of employee relations and HR legal compliance - Collaborate with the HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related discipline. Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate degree preferred - At least 3 years of progressive experience as a HR / Employee Relations professional - Certification (SPHR or PHR) preferred - A deep knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations - Strong working background in HR management, employee relations and HR best practices - Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills - Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues - Coach and influence to achieve business results - Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal presentation, written communication) required
