Summary: The VP – Information Technology & Security is responsible for directing and managing the strategic direction of the Information Technology and Security functions of Oklahoma AgCredit, including establishment and administration of IT and Security goals, policies, and procedures; analyzing the technology needs and staffing of the department for the Association; and overseeing the cyber security program and administration.
Position Responsibilities:
IT Leadership
- Selects, develops, coaches, trains, and supervises the IT support staff.
- Establishes performance standards and measures performance against standards.
- Provides feedback and rewards employees for performance in a timely manner.
- Monitors changes in the technology sector to discover ways the Association can improve and develop.
- Stays current with IT regulations and the impact they may have on the Association.
- Control owner of the ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) related to information technology and security.
Strategic Leadership
- Attends and participates in Board of Director meetings.
- Contributes to the compilation of the Association’s annual business plan.
Budget Management
- Develops the IT annual budget taking into consideration special projects, applications, technology required and recommends to COO/CFO
- Provides justification for purchases when needed.
- Monitors budget and expenses throughout the year
Service Provider Management
- Builds and maintains relationships with external service providers.
- Provides technical feedback on system, application and process performance and functionality to external service providers.
- Evaluates and recommends vendors (i.e., telecommunications, software, and applications) to use based on economics, technological fit, and organizational goals to management team.
- Negotiates services and coordinates the efforts of vendors, consultants, and service contracts.
Data Security and Confidentiality
- Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data.
- Build and lead a high-performing security and privacy program, providing strategic direction and management across all security-related fronts.
- This role encompasses the rigorous monitoring of security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures, including access control, risk management, incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Extend leadership to drive comprehensive organizational training programs and preparedness plans, ensuring the organization excels not only in maintaining robust security and privacy measures but also in readiness and responsive action to emerging threats.
Program Management
- Determines IT-related projects for the Association and directs team members in implementation.
- Provides vision, support, and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives.
- Develops, recommends, and implements technology policies and procedures.
End User Support
- Provides and lead customer service and technical support to staff on supported applications, software, active directory, printing, and equipment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems.
- Completes or directs staff on completing general and preventative hardware and software maintenance.
Hardware and Software Management
- Monitors, maintains, and directs the development and support of all hardware and software.
- Authorizes the deployment of hardware and software.
- Determines what hardware and software to purchase.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, CIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- 7-10 years in security, technology, and infrastructure, with a proven track record in building environments and teams that deliver secure technology solutions.
- Supervisory experience required for this position.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISA preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Strong leadership skills and abilities with exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Expert knowledge in IT Service Management Frameworks and Practices: Proficient in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) for structuring IT service management, coupled with extensive experience in ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) to ensure effective operational practices.
- Expert knowledge of strategic planning, financial management, and budgeting skills.
- Deep technical knowledge in security controls, network security, cloud security, and application security.
- Working knowledge of networking
- Working knowledge of virtualization
- General knowledge of storage systems and backup
- General knowledge of server hardware
- General knowledge of software licensing agreements
- Skill in providing end user support
- Skill in providing technical training
