Alabama Ag Credit is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness, and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama with nine offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. With over $1.2 billion in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field. Experience as an agricultural or commercial loan officer with credit experience originating, coordinating and negotiating sensitive and complex business transactions for both long and short-term credit with an emphasis in credit extension, administration and related lending activities. The candidate should have strong analytical skills to maintain sound credit underwriting standards and evaluate and structure loan proposals. The candidate must have experience operating in a sales environment including networking, developing, and servicing new relationships. A minimum of 7 years credit and sales experience required with 3 years in a management level position. Supervisory experience of lending officers and administrative personnel is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal relations, leadership, strategic planning, public relations, communication, and management skills are required.
Responsible for the goals and objectives of the Gulf Coast branch office to include business development, portfolio management, and management of production and administrative team members. Promotes the association through civic involvement within the market and establishes business relationships with agricultural producers, business leaders, and rural land owners while cultivating these relationships to expand lending opportunities. Actively develops and implements proactive marketing efforts.
Makes and services existing loans within delegated authority and in accordance with association policies. Responsible for applying sound credit administration procedures in processing loan applications, analyzing records, evaluating collateral and determining the eligibility and scope of financing for all new loans. Makes and clearly conveys decisions on loan approval, structure and pricing to customers and management. Secures and documents background and credit history on new loans, repeat loans and renewals. Responsible for credit risk management duties for loans within the branch. Maintains awareness of agricultural trends and business activity, FCA regulations and legal obligations. Reports to the Chief Relationship Officer in accomplishing goals and objectives.
