WASHINGTON, D.C. — Farm Credit Council President and CEO Christy Seyfert issued the following statement on the Farm Service Agency’s final rule, Driving Efficiency in Farm Loan Delivery:

“The Farm Credit Council applauds USDA for finalizing this important rule to improve the delivery and efficiency of farm loan programs. This is the culmination of years of work to modernize the way farm lending programs are delivered and better serve America’s farmers and ranchers.

“These improvements are particularly important for beginning producers who rely on guaranteed loans to access the credit they need to establish and grow their operations. By making the guaranteed lending process more efficient, the rule can help ensure these producers have a more timely and effective pathway to the financing they need.

“We are grateful to Farm Service Agency leadership for bringing this effort across the finish line. We also thank Congressman Austin Scott for introducing legislation that helped advance these reforms and House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson for his leadership and continued support.

“We appreciate the partnership that made this progress possible and look forward to working with USDA to ensure these improvements deliver meaningful results for farmers, ranchers and rural communities.”
