WASHINGTON, D.C. — Farm Credit Council President and CEO Christy Seyfert issued the following statement regarding President Trump’s request of $11.1 billion in aid to farmers.
“Farm Credit applauds the Trump administration’s $11.1 billion agriculture and agriculture disaster assistance request to Congress to support farmers, ranchers and rural communities. This crucial aid will help America’s producers, who continue to endure economic challenges including sustained high input costs, market volatility and extreme weather.
“Supplemental aid, combined with the passage of a complete Farm Bill, will provide the five-year certainty and resources rural communities and agriculture need to thrive. Farm Credit stands ready to work with the administration and members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to ensure this farm and disaster assistance, and the Farm Bill, are enacted this year.”
