Farm Credit is investing in the future of agriculture through long-standing partnerships with organizations like MANRRS. At the 2026 MANRRS National Conference, April 8–12, 2026, Farm Credit sponsored 28 students through the Farm Credit VIP Scholars program, providing opportunities for professional development, networking and career exploration.

Farm Credit VIP Scholars Program Advances Agriculture Careers

The Farm Credit VIP Scholars program is an elite program awarded annually for up to 30 outstanding MANRRS students. Each scholar receives:

  • A $1,000 academic scholarship
  • Full travel support to attend the MANRRS National Conference
  • Exclusive access to Farm Credit-led professional development training

This program equips students with the tools they need to pursue careers in agriculture, agribusiness and financial services.

“The VIP Scholar Day gave me the opportunity to reflect on my strengths, learn how they show up in team settings, and think more intentionally about the kind of professional and teammate I want to be regardless of where I end up,” said Farm Credit VIP Scholars program winner Christian D. “I realized that my drive to achieve is at its best when it’s fueled by the genuine relationships I build with those around me.”

Professional Development and Networking Opportunities

Students spent the day networking, learning from Farm Credit leaders about career paths in finance, credit, capital markets, IT, marketing, HR, and participating in professional etiquette training.  This program helps shape the future of the agriculture industry by ensuring students receive leadership skills and professional development training to succeed in their careers.

One of the program highlights is the professional etiquette training from renowned expert Sharon Hill. Students are treated to a dining experience while Hill takes the opportunity to ensure they’re prepared for any interview, even one which may come in the form of a formal meal. “We can all use reminders about when to put our napkins in our lap and which one is our water glass,” said Anne Thompson, VP of Young, Beginning Producer Programs & Industry Outreach at the Farm Credit Council. “I learn something new from this experience every year.”

A Continued Commitment to Agriculture Leadership

In 2026, the Farm Credit VIP Scholars program celebrated 11 years of developing future leaders in agriculture. As a proud Titanium Sponsor of MANRRS, Farm Credit remains committed to expanding opportunities for students and looks forward to continuing to build on the partnership.
