Farm Credit supports the future of rural communities by financing the companies that provide critical infrastructure services.

Rural America’s future viability depends on access to reliable and modern transportation, energy, water, healthcare and other rural facilities to attract businesses and people. Farm Credit supports rural electric cooperatives, water and wastewater facilities, healthcare entities and rural communications providers.

We live in the rural communities we serve and understand the urgent need to upgrade these services that drive rural economies and provide quality of life.

The rural electric cooperatives we support provide safe, affordable and reliable electricity across rural America. They maintain millions of miles of electric lines, support renewable energy options and frequently provide broadband service.

The water and wastewater companies ensure safe drinking water and proper disposal of waste.

Rural communications companies keep residents connected.

We proudly support healthcare and senior living facilities that help keep rural community members healthy.

Cordova Electric Cooperative

Cordova Electric Cooperative is the sole provider of electric energy to the remote, coastal community of Cordova, Alaska. In 1978, residents organized to form a rural electric cooperative that would meet their need for a more stable electrical structure.

Rebuild Rural Coalition

To advocate for rural infrastructure, Farm Credit established the Rebuild Rural Coalition. This group of more than 250 local, state and national organizations helped ensure lawmakers prioritize the needs of rural communities in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
