Charlie Bee Company

A Buzzing Dream Brought to Life

For Charles Agar, beekeeping isn’t just a business — it’s therapy. As the founder of Charlie Bee Company, he’s built more than a honey operation. Charlie has created a vibrant agritourism destination where visitors come to learn, connect, and fall in love with the magic of bees.

“When I open a hive, it really does something for the soul,” he said. Today, Charlie manages over 300 honeybee colonies in and around the family homestead in Seguin, Texas, where he and wife Kaye, operate a mom-and-pop bee school, retail store and agritourism site on 15 acres.

From Vision to Reality with Capital Farm Credit

Charlie’s journey took flight thanks to Capital Farm Credit. With support from Capital Farm Credit’s Grow Your AgriRoots Award and Grant, Charlie Bee Company expanded its impact.

“Thanks to Capital Farm Credit, we’re able to buy our dream property, put a home on it, build our shop, and start a business,” he shared. But the mission goes beyond honey. It’s about habitat preservation, education, and community.

Charlie’s days are never dull. He uses social media to tell the stories about his operation and his love of bees.

“Who knew I would fall in love with a little flying, singing critter and craft a life around it and a business around it,” he said. “It’s magical, and that’s the kind of thing that tells me that with Capital Farm Credit, together we’re better.”
