The Freeman Tradition
At Clint & Sons, family is the number one priority. Nestled in the charming town of White Deer, Texas, The Freemans are operating a modest, yet proud company deeply intertwined with the Texan panhandle.
Clint and Mildred Freeman opened the family store in 1936, using a muffin tin and cigar box as a cash register. Nearly 90 years later, their grandsons Johnny and Joe Freeman operate the meat processing plant. Their mission is simple: to deliver unparalleled service and offer top-tier quality meat products.
And the Freemans pride themselves on being more than a meat company. United by their passion for crafting the finest cuts, sausages and beef jerky in Texas, their family traditions that have been passed down through four generations continue today.
Expanding the Family Business
Clint Freeman relocated the family business from Skellytown to White Deer in 1945, and ‘Clint’s Zero Locker’ was born. And he did not stop there. He remodeled, fixed, and improved the location, opening a grocery portion within the store.
The Freemans forever changed the meat market in Carson County. Custom cutting and meat freezing became the new tactics of operating a meat market, and their reputation began to grow.
Over the years, the Freemans have built several locations to expand their cooler and storage spaces. This has allowed them to sell their products in seven different states in over 2,500 stores.
Through the good times and bad, Plains Land Bank has been a dedicated lender for Clint & Sons.
