Mountain Brook Vineyards

In addition to community connections, Farm Credit provides financial expertise.

From wine tastings and vineyard tours to weddings and outdoor movie nights, Mountain Brook Vineyards does it all. On their seventy five-acre property in Tryon, North Carolina, Jonathan and Vicky Redgrave make Cabernet, Petit Verdot, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay on roughly seven acres.

Building Relationships

Relatively new to agriculture, the Redgraves often turn to Miles, their loan officer from AgSouth Farm Credit, for support. “If I had to pick out what sets apart our experience with Farm Credit from other banks, I would say it’s the relationships, not just with Miles, our loan officer, but with others as well,” Jonathan said.

As a cooperative, Farm Credit employees such as Miles understand the value of community. Jonathan said, “While we hadn’t been in the farming industry before this, Miles and others were really taking that relationship to the next level, connecting us with other people in the community that would help us.”

Looking to the Future

In addition to community connections, Farm Credit provides financial expertise whenever necessary. Jonathan said that he appreciates that Farm Credit “understands the actual financial products available.” He feels that Farm Credit is there to guide him as he answers the question, “What would actually work best for our circumstances?”

Miles and AgSouth Farm Credit continue to stand beside Jonathan and Vicky as they navigate the financial considerations of building a large event space on the farm that will be able to host up to 200 people. Looking to the future, the Redgraves hope to continue expanding, so much so that they can produce up to 5,000 cases of wine per year.
