“I know if I get into tough times, I’ve got a Farm Credit institution that’s going to support me and help me work through those tough times.”
From young plant propagation to finished annuals and perennials, Pleasant View Gardens does it all. They are a wholesale greenhouse operation growing both starter plants and finished plants to other nurseries and garden centers throughout New England. Under Henry Huntington’s leadership, the team farms nearly 14 acres of greenhouses across two different locations. They grow starter plants to sell to other nurseries and they cultivate plants to maturity, which they sell to garden centers across New England.
You’ve Got a Friend in Me
Henry has relied on Farm Credit East’s support throughout his career. He said, “The number one thing that Farm Credit offers farmers is that they know agriculture.” When choosing his lender, Henry valued Farm Credit’s multifaceted understanding of the industry, as well as the needs of its farmer customers. “It’s not just about the interest rate, it’s about the institution that’s behind it,” he added.
Henry also chose Farm Credit East because he felt confident that they would stand by him in the event of challenges. “I know if I get into tough times, I’ve got a Farm Credit institution that’s going to support me and help me work through those tough times,” said Henry. His positive experiences as a customer-owner, as well as his deep belief in Farm Credit’s mission moved Henry to run for Farm Credit East’s board of directors, where he has served since 2011.
