Big V Feeds

Quality and Service

David Verner proudly upholds his family’s legacy of quality and service as the mill supervisor and Executive Vice President of Big V Feeds. The family-owned operation is a wholesale livestock feed manufacturer and supplier headquartered in McAlester, Oklahoma.

They offer a full line of formulated feeds for beef, dairy, horses, poultry, swine, sheep, goats, pets and other customized products.

A Storied History

It all began when C. T. Hardeman established the Hardeman Milling Company, a flourmill producing flour, cornmeal and supplying mill by-products and grain to the feed trade. His vision would later shape the future of agriculture in the region.

Over time, Hardeman’s operations expanded throughout the state and branded under the Merit Feed logo.

David’s grandfather, Woodrow Verner, became the manager and bookkeeper of the Hardeman Milling Company in 1945. Decades later, after C.T. Hardeman passed away, Woodrow was approached about taking over the business. In 1965, the name of the company changed, and Big V Feeds was born.

Big V Feeds soon expanded by purchasing a neighboring mill property and used it as an opportunity to produce even more quality livestock feed. The company’s facilities grew to include maintenance shops, flat storage buildings and retail stores, further cementing its place in the community.

Oklahoma AgCredit continues to partner with Big V Feeds as they grow and expand their operation.
