Richard and Laurie Ketch work as insurance adjusters who specialize in livestock mortality claims. They also run a hunter-jumper stable with approximately 14 horses. They had leased a farm but as the number of horses they had kept increasing they felt it was time to buy a farm of their own. That’s when they reached out to AgCredit, they got preapproved but couldn’t find the right farm, so they bought a house and built their own farm. AgCredit helped them with the whole process and was always a phone call away. One of the selling features of Farm Credit for them was the patronage refund that you’d get at the end of the year, they were able to use their first patronage check to build a custom chicken coop.
