They also run a hunter-jumper stable with approximately 14 horses.

Finding, no creating, the perfect place
Richard and Laurie had leased a farm for some time. However, as the number of horses they had kept increasing, they felt it was time to buy a farm of their own. That’s when they reached out to AgCredit.

Thety were preapproved for a loan and set out to find the perfect farm. The search, however, turned out to be much more challenging than they anticipated. They just couldn’t find the right farm. Their solution? They bought thier dream house on some property and built their own farm.

Partnership for growth
Representatives from AgCredit helped Richard and Laurie throughout the entire process of finding, financing and building their new farm.

"Lisa was always there for us, just a phone call or an email away. Her service has been fabulous," said Laurie.

One of the big selling points that convinced Richard and Laurie to take their business to AgCredit was the patronage check they would receive each year.

"We have gotten a patronage check twice so far and it has been a very nice chunk of money. With the first one we were able to build a custom chicken coop that matches our house, which was very important to me," said Laurie.
