Mortgage Lending Officer
Location: Edwards, IL / Morton, IL
The individual’s primary responsibility is the origination of consumer purpose home mortgage loans (secondary market, hobby farm and portfolio) as well as recreational bare land loans (e.g. hunting land). They will build strong client relationships with proven loan volume and client satisfaction results. The individual will combine his/her mortgage lending experience and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each client’s current financial position in order to provide innovative and workable alternatives to create solutions for the client.
Work closely with internal referral partners, as well as with processing, underwriting, and closing for efficient loan processing and industry leading levels of client satisfaction.
Market and sell our unique set of products services, establishing new market relationships which contribute toward attainment of Compeer goals and business objectives.
Network with current and prospective clients, as well as industry professionals to provide new ideas and useful home mortgage information.
Provide “value added” business concepts within the dynamic technological and financial environment.
Maintain and develop a strong understanding of finance, macroeconomics, and especially competitive products and services.
As part of the ongoing consultative relationship with each client, identify and work with clients experiencing financial stress to minimize risk and losses.
Develop and maintain a significant “professional presence” throughout the local community.
Actively participate in various related professional groups as an important step in demonstrating knowledge and commitment to local and rural communities and the agricultural industry.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, agriculture related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
2 + years mortgage lending sales or service experience or other related experience.
NMLS registration will be required.
Proven decision making, negotiating, influencing, and strategic selling skills.
Requires solid computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and client databases.
