Glaser Land and Livestock Company

Cousins and fourth generation ranchers continue their family legacy with support from American AgCredit.

Brent Glaser and his cousin Susan Church are grateful their fathers had the foresight to secure the land that would allow Glaser Land & Livestock Company to exist today near Elko, Nevada.

Creative expansion
In the late 1980s, Norman Glaser (Brent’s father) and his brother Arthur (Susan’s father), initiated a strategy, working with Farm Credit, to complete large land exchanges and purchases involving BLM, the railroad and private entities. This sizable acquisition allowed them expand their grazing land and triple the size of their cattle herd. Now Brent and Susan continue both the ranching tradition and partnership with Farm Credit.

Loans for continuity
More recently, Brent and Susan have used short term loans from American AgCredit to acquire and update the equipment that their operation relies on to keep the business moving smoothly. “We’ve upgraded most of our equipment in the last 10 or 15 years.” Brent says, “You cannot work in American agriculture anymore without a good lender like American AgCredit.”

Continuing the legacy
As 4th generation ranchers, Brent and Susan understand the value of good stewardship. They appreciate the hard work that went before them to establish their operation and know their hard work will pay off for future generations.
